What Coders Cafe collects when you use this site, why, and how to have it removed.

What we collect
When you submit the contact form. Your name, email address, an optional company name, and what you write about your project, its budget range and its timeline. These are sent to us by email and are not stored in any database on this site.
When you browse. Google Analytics records standard usage data, including pages visited, approximate location, device and browser, and how you arrived. It sets cookies to do so. If you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, it is not loaded at all unless you agree first. Elsewhere it runs unless you turn it off, which you can do at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer.
Your IP address. Held briefly in memory to rate-limit the contact form and block automated abuse. It is never written to disk and does not survive a server restart.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of third parties to run this site, and your data passes through them:
- Resend delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
- Google Analytics measures usage.
- Vercel and Cloudflare handle hosting and delivery, which involves processing request data including your IP address.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. The only cookies that can appear are Google Analytics’, and they are not set until they are allowed. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, that means not until you accept.
Google Analytics does load either way, using Google Consent Mode. In its denied state it stores nothing and cannot identify you; it sends an anonymous, cookieless signal so we can still see roughly how many people read a page. If you decline, or simply never answer, it stays in that state.
To decide who is asked, we check the country your request arrives from, using a header added by our network provider. We do not store it, log it, or receive it in the browser. The only information that reaches the page is whether a prompt is needed.
Your answer is remembered in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie, and never leaves your device. To change it, use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page.
How long we keep it
Contact form emails stay in our inbox until we delete them. We keep enquiries while a conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s own settings. Rate-limiting records are discarded within minutes.
Your choices
Write to [email protected] and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live you may have a legal right to request these things; we will honour the request either way, and we will not ask you to justify it.
Changes
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it, and the date above changes too.
